《Marc Jacobs @ SS2012 Presentation》

Marc Jacobs SS2012 collection preview was held at the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents’ Club recently. After an easy carefree resort collection, Marc utilizes innovative fabrics and intrepid details to create a romantic and pristine collection. The launch preview was full of the glamour and charm that Marc Jacobs exudes, and is a testament as to why Marc Jacobs are wardrobe must-haves for the chic and stylish around the world.

The showcased was a collection where a pristine and harmonious palette is created with pastels, like mint, pale blue, light grey, ivory, highlighted with popping lemon, emerald and cobalt blue. A selection of fabrics, like silk and gloss satin, are used to highlight different hues and enrich the volumes. Marc Jacobs has also applied plenty of innovative fabrics on apparels, including translucent cellophane organza, sheen lame embroidery and luxurious sequin tull, for razzle-dazzle visual impact, versatile texture and added glamour. Classic <Gingham> checks can be seen on several pieces for innocence and cool styles.

  

  

  

Many dresses, tops, and skirts are embellished with fringes, avant-garde fabrics and 1920s silhouette are the answer for a cross era collection. Both multi-layer retro fringe skirt with metallic appearance or reflexive finish and skirt with see-through plastic draping are the perfect embodiments of contrasting elements. An androgynous cute style is featured on the runway: a dress in drop-waist cutting and feminine lace tulle trimming is matched with a matching color turban and see-through cow boy boots, which strikes a balance between femininity and boyish style.

The style has carefully created in several must-have styles for fashionistas around the world. <Gingham> check is the highlight of the season. Its sweet palette exudes simple coolitude and pristine sensuality with see-through dress or silver metallic pants. Two-tone drop-waist draping dress and hoody with skirt are seasonal boyish-chic. Delicate and sophisticate Lame embroidery jacket and matching gathered skirt simply make you stand out from the crowd.
