Giuliano Fujiwara SS2012 collection takes its queue from the previous FW one giving a sense on continuity to the men’s line keeping a street wear essence with a utility work wear. The concept of a sartorial street savvy man is carried on and developed keeping a clean and tailored line. The shapes are squared out and lines are kept oversized even in the more formal pieces giving a somewhat more dégagé frame to the entire collection.
Creative Director Masataka Matsumura used a color range that goes from beige to dark blue to ultra marine blue and browns that are more near to a brick shade, bright sparks of color are given by the accessories in bright blue and azure. Big pockets are stitched on blazers trenches and jackets as details for a contemporary and re-conceived vision of tailoring ; a collection in which the importance of aesthetics runs parallel with today and tomorrow’s importance of realness and comfort. Cotton is used through out the entire collection blended with more technical fibres, formal jackets are paired with skinny trousers, with a low crotch.
