A year has passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake, and The Japan Tourism Board would like to show thier thanks and appreciation for the help and support they received from the people of Hong Kong . They are hoping to show the “Genki” of Japan and its newest attractions. Genki Japan is sponsored by The Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong and the Foreign Ministry of Japan from March 23rd to 27th 2012. The exhibition consists of Japanese High Technology, Tourism and Fashion. In the Rotunda, there will be eleven (11) prefectural sightseeing locations, special promotion products, such as the introduction of robots by Japanese corporations; and exhibit booths will have various other cultural items such as gourmet, fashion, cosmetics, tourism etc in Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center(KITEC). Uzawashishi Dance Performance from the Eastern area of Japan (Otsuchi Village ). This dance has a history of over 400 years. Dances and performances will be specific to the area affected by the earthquake. This is a special concert for reconstruction efforts and for world peace. Before the concert, an instrument-making workshop will be conducted.
As an Ambassador for Japanese Tourism, Eric Tsang will have a chat session on the 1st day of the exhibition to share his travel experiences in Japan .
