PRINGLE of Scotland SS2012 women collection wants people to see the women before the clothes. New deisgn director Alistair Carr commented that and he has a sophisticated woman in mind - striking the balance between styles that are wearable and effortless as well as directional. The inspiration came from the rich Pringle archive, an exciting blend of beautifully simple classics, intarsia pattered styles from the 1960's.
  
  
A key archive find is an incredible degrade beaded cardigan, initiatiing a process of combining traditional techniques and fabric innovation while staying true to the Pringle of Scotland Signature of beutiful knitwear.Knitewear is opened in the backs for summer, using multiple technique including hand intarsia and metallic jacquards. The concept of the twinset runs withion the whole collection in both knits and wovens with ultra lightweight and luxurious fabrics. 
  
  
The SS2012 menswear collection takes its inspiration from the rich brand heritage of sport and abstracts inconic argyles to show them in a completely new contemporary context. The key shapes are inspired by Pringle's heyday in 1950's and 60's with a 90's clean minimal technical edge and come in ultralight material. As seen in the womens SS2012 resort collection. There are structured cashmeres with a subdued "pixel Explosion" print that translates into smart military style shirts and a series of panelled tops.
  
  
  
Knitwear is shown in lightweight ribbed cashmere and cottons featuring varying corrugated structures of stones, navy black and melange. Archival references in various guises are reinterreted to appeal to the versatility of the modern urban man. "With this first menswear collection, I want to strike the balance between respecting and reinterpreting the Pringle of Scotland heritage. " Says Alistair Carr.
