This season, Monki is a little bigger, a little better. ”For this collection, we’ve been inspired by women who dare to be confident in who they are. Even cheeky...“says Tallulah Topac, Head of Design. “Women artists, teenage punks with too much mascara and too much attitude, extrovert glamour-lovers...People who have that effortless I-can-do-it attitude. This is inspiring regardless of what the “it” is, really. There’s strength in daring to be soft and dreamy, too." To capture the collection, Fashion Director Emma Wikström decided against using a traditional, posing model, depicting the unhesitating movements of Royal Swedish Opera dancer Mia Hjelte instead.
“... Monki has a strong belief in individual looks and personal style”, Emma explains. “For us, when a person gives off self-confidence, that is personal style... the feeling that there is no right or wrong. We wanted to use a “model” that has that assurance to such a degree that we don’t even need to show her face to express it.” monki is a style concept. A wild flirt between street style and Scandinavian fashion sense, a fashion made for people wanting to express who they are through what they wearas . monki is an experience, monki is a creative hub. Are you ready to sing and dance this summer?!
