‘Modern Glamour’ is the starting point for the Miu Miu FW2011/12. The collection portrays a new modest glamour. The idea of modesty personifies a more individual woman that is not conditioned by the dictates of design but her elegance is fresh and feminine, far from conventional. The silhouette features an inverted-triangle shape that has a vaguely 1940s feel. The prevailing colours are blush, grey, black and white interspersed with touches of pink and pale green in the embroideries.
The dresses, which also have large shoulders, feature loose-fitting sleeves and below-the-knee length hems. Large bows applied to the hips and micro-sequined embroideries depicting daisies, lilies of the valley, dandelions and birds enhance the feminine and fresh feel of the dresses. The mink details that decorate belts and sleeves, meanwhile, underline the glamorous aspect of the collection. Footwear features a high and large heel and is predominantly shown in glitter, felt and suede. The bags are large clutches with tortoise shell or gold clasps and are hand-held to emphasise their glamorous nature.
